Koyuki Inagaki from Tokyo designed the branding for QM Weather, an IoT weather forecast device developed as a collaborative effort between QUANTUM Inc., KAMARQ Holdings and Artless Inc. QM Weather’s sleek design is based on simplicity, reflecting the minimal product’s simple yet practical function: to tell you if it’s a good or bad day outside.
The key concept for the identity is “marriage of authenticity and light-heartedness.” Classic typefaces were chosen to create an authentic atmosphere for the brand, while the abstracted monogram adds a contemporary, approachable look to the logo. Shapes and lines always draw my attention, but what’s really keeping me to shoot is the Instagram community – every person I meet via the app is so enthusiastic about photography, that I always have something to learn and be inspired from.
