Walker was part of the original lineup of this New Jersey garage rock group, formed in 1964. It was written by the band’s singer Beau Charles in 30 minutes, demoed in New York, recorded soon after at Sunset Sound in West Hollywood and tracked at Leon Russell’s house in the Hollywood Hills.

Although relatively little has been written about Jimmy Walker, he ranks as an important figure in the development of country music. The 1935 novel It Can't Happen Here, by Sinclair Lewis, lists the exiles in Paris as "Jimmy Walker, and a few ex-presidents from South America and Cuba".[12].
