High Desert Trails 2016, High Desert Trails Performance Rally – Saturday May 7th, 2016. These are good to add on if you’re looking for a longer day of hiking in Malibu. The path leads to Smuggler’s Cove, and there is a ranch closeby. And one of the best ways to experience the region’s stunning deserts, palm trees, and coastal views is by hitting the trails.
The California Rally Series is the premier performance rally championship in the southwestern United States. Become a Member of Rails-to-Trails! On dirt roads Southwest of Ridgecrest and North of the Jawbone Canyon Station, the rally takes competitors through fast and flowing valleys and tight and twisty forest sections in the beautiful high desert on county roads.
We invite you to check them out on Friday night between 6:30PM – 7:30PM May 5th in Ridgecrest. Malibu has a lot of great hikes, but a local favorite is the Solstice Canyon Trail in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
The total ascent is almost 700 feet, while the trail distance is 4 miles.
