We showed up around 3 in the afternoon. My topaz adventure is worth bragging about. I am lucky to have this wonderful memory! Stay in a trailer or pitch a tent etc. there is nothing like topaz mining together!

At 10am, they blasted three different sections of the Rhyolite host rock and provided all of the essential tools including chisels and hammers. Would be great to bottle time at this mine any time a stress reliever is needed. We camped at Topaz Mountain in our rv and mined during the day. The rocks are gorgeous and sparkle! It’s about 16 hours from Calgary and we would do it again in a heartbeat!

The mine owners were so helpful and friendly not only with finding topaz but learning more about the desert. Dave and Rhonda were very friendly and welcoming. We took a break for lunch and had burgers on the bbq then went right back to the claim. Whether it is filing a mine or researching one, the administering BLM office is going to be the definitive source. If I had to do it again, I would have signed up on the web in advance.
