While rsync certainly gets the job done, it’s much more useful when combined with Automator to simplify the whole process.
To sync a folder (or a workspace or filter), go to Options > Sync Folder: This will "push" the folder's contents to the local sync location, on devices where you have ndSync installed.

Rsync can also sync data over a network, so if your folders are on another computer this method can be tweaked slightly to use the relevant remote hostname. This was a headache, but no more.Works beautifully and gives me perfect control for each scenario with my various syncs.

If the source folder is on a school Mac that’s firewalled to within an inch of its life, talk to the school’s IT department about your options.
Additionally, cloud-based services such as Dropbox can synchronise files on multiple machines very simply (note that the Mac version of Dropbox is only available from their website, not in the App Store).
For most people a third-party app is the most convenient and hassle-free method to sync your data, with the advantage that lots of features are provided such as the ability to sync files, music, pictures, bookmarks and other data.
When you move a file to your Dropbox folder on one computer, that file is synced to all the Dropbox folders you have on your other computers as well as with your storage area on the Dropbox website. You can copy, delete files individually as well. There are a number of ways to do this. Each method is described in more detail below.
Click Sync . It has been designed to be easy to use: choose 2 folders to synchronize then click the Synchronize button and you're done! The first action, Get Specified Finder Items, should have the source folder listed (the one you Control-clicked).
